What are implant bridges?
An implant bridge is a dental appliance that is used to replace one or more missing teeth. The implant is made of titanium and is placed into the jawbone to act as a replacement for the tooth root. Once the implant has healed, a bridge (artificial tooth) is placed on top of it.

Benefits of implant bridges
An implant bridge has many benefits to oral and overall health, including:
- Improved eating ability – An implant bridge can restore biting and chewing capabilities, making it easier to eat a variety of foods.
- Improved speech – Missing teeth can cause speech problems and whistling. An implant bridge fills the space and rectifies this problem.
- Maintaining the jawbone – Dental implants help to preserve the jawbone structure, reducing the risk of further tooth loss and facial collapse.
- Aesthetics – Implant bridges are designed to look exactly like natural teeth. They will bring back your confident smile!
- Long-lasting – Implant bridges are made from high-quality materials that are designed to last for many years with proper care and maintenance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Am I suitable for an implant bridge?
Suitability depends on your current general health, dental health and the amount of bone you have for the implant. These factors can be assessed by your dentist through examination and a 3D X-ray. However, most adults who are missing teeth are suitable for dental implants.
The best way to determine if you are a candidate for this procedure is to book a consultation with our dental practice. We will assess your case and develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs.
How many teeth can I have on an implant bridge?
Depending on the missing spaces and amount of bone you have, a dental implant bridge can span from 2 to all the teeth. In some cases, not all teeth need to be replaced to restore aesthetics and function. To get an accurate assessment, we recommend booking a consultation with one of our implant dentists.
How long does the procedure take?
An implant-supported bridge procedure generally takes three visits. During the first visit, the titanium implants will be placed into your jawbone. In some cases, an implant tooth can be placed immediately, in other cases a healing time of 3-6 months is required. Once the implants have healed, you will return for subsequent visits to have the artificial teeth (bridge) placed on top of them.
How long will it take to recover?
The healing process will vary from patient to patient. In most cases, it takes up to 6 months to heal.
